Davie Dog Park at William R. Davie District Park

FreeOff-leash permitted

A five-acre off-leash dog park in South Charlotte operated by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, with two fenced areas divided for dogs over and under 20 pounds. Shaded trails around the park offer on-leash exercise, and water fountains serve both sides of the fence. It was expanded by the nonprofit Partners for Parks.

Why it made the list

Five acres with size-split fenced runs and shaded on-leash trails in the same visit make it the most complete dog destination in Charlotte.

Good to know before you go

Mecklenburg County dog parks are open daily 7:30 am to sunset; dogs must have current Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella vaccinations to use off-leash areas, no children under 12 are allowed, and female dogs in heat are prohibited. Source: parkandrec.mecknc.gov.
