Yoyogi Park Dog Run
Free·Off-leash permitted
The largest dog run in Tokyo: about 3,620 square metres inside Yoyogi Park, split into three fenced zones by the dog's weight and ringed by trees. The rest of the 54-hectare park is a leashed walk, managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Park Association.
Why it made the list
A free, genuinely off-leash, size-segregated run in central Tokyo, and the single most useful dog facility near Shibuya and Harajuku.
Good to know before you go
Free, but you register once, on site, at the Yoyogi Park Service Center about 250 m from the run. Bring the physical metal municipal dog-registration tag and the current-year rabies tag; phone photographs are not accepted. Three weight zones, no lighting after dark, and the dog must be leashed everywhere else in the park. The hours and registration detail come from public guides, as the park authority publishes the dog run as a facility but no separate rules page.
Practical notes
- Register at the service centre first, with the metal tags, not photos.
- Go before dusk — the run has no lighting.
What is available on site

House rules and verification
The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.
