Tin Shed Garden Cafe

$$ · ModerateLeashed only

A long-running brunch cafe on NE Alberta with a corrugated-metal front and a covered, heated garden patio. Biscuits and gravy, potato cakes, scrambles and mimosas, and it keeps a dog menu alongside the human one.

Why it made the list

One of Portland's most dog-celebrating restaurants — an actual dog menu, and a covered heated patio that works in the rain rather than only in July.

Good to know before you go

Dogs are welcome on the covered, heated patio only and must be leashed. A dog menu and treats are sold, and there is a doggie bandana whose proceeds go to animal rescues. Hours come from public directories rather than the café's own site. Reservations are advised at weekends and walk-in waits are common.

Practical notes

  • Book a weekend table, or arrive by 8am to beat the line.
  • The enclosed patio is heated, so it is a good wet-day option.

What is available on site

  • Dog menu
  • Shaded seating
  • Step-free access

House rules and verification

The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.

Portland's original Lucky Labrador brewpub, in an old timbered warehouse on SE Hawthorne. It brews its own beer — Off Leash Pilsner among them — heated with solar water, and serves plain, cheap pub sandwiches and pizza to a bike-friendly crowd.
