The closest Atlantic beach to central Porto, a wide sandy stretch about 20 minutes from São Bento by train, backed by the seafood restaurants of Rua Brito Capelo. As a non-concessioned beach it is generally open to dogs year-round, outside the busy bathing season.
A laid-back café on Bonfim's café-friendly avenue, one of the local dog-welcoming spots catalogued by Porto Secreto's pet-friendly list alongside neighbours like The Happy Nest. Relaxed staff and regular local dogs make it an easy coffee stop.
A terraced park above the Douro River in one of Porto's oldest neighbourhoods, with viewpoint terraces looking over the rooftops of Ribeira. It has a fully fenced off-leash dog enclosure with a double-gated entrance and a small pool where dogs can cool off in summer.
