Magnuson Park Off-Leash Area
Free·Off-leash permitted
Seattle's largest off-leash area, about 8.6 acres inside the 350-acre Magnuson Park on Lake Washington. A big flat play field, a winding gravel trail and a separate small-and-shy dog area near the NE 74th Street entrance.
Why it made the list
It is the only official off-leash area inside Seattle city limits with shoreline access, so dogs can wade and swim as well as run — and it is by far the biggest fenced run in the city.
Good to know before you go
Leashes are required everywhere outside the designated off-leash boundary, and Seattle bars dogs from beaches, athletic fields and playgrounds. Off-leash is legal only inside the area, during park hours. Dogs must be licensed, vaccinated and under owner control, with no females in heat and no aggressive dogs. Details come from Seattle Parks and Recreation.
Practical notes
- Bring a towel — lake access means a wet, sandy dog.
- Park near NE 74th Street, where the off-leash area is signed.

House rules and verification
The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.
