Diverticán, Parque José Luis Bustamante y Rivero

FreeOff-leash permitted

Fenced off-leash zones of more than 200 square metres with agility equipment, installed in three San Isidro parks: Bustamante y Rivero, Alfonso Ugarte and Talamantes. They exist so dogs can run without bothering other park users.

Why it made the list

Rare legal off-leash space in central Lima, and still promoted by the district a decade after opening.

Good to know before you go

Off-leash only inside the fence; aggressive or legally dangerous breeds must stay leashed and muzzled, no food except water, no puppies under five months and no females in heat. Entry is free and the zones take up about 5% of each park. The district page dates the programme to 2016 and a March 2025 municipal item shows it still running, but the published hours are not on that page, so check the gate sign.

Practical notes

  • Bring your own water, the zones have bag dispensers but no tap
  • Weekday mornings are calmest for shy dogs
