Barking Dog (Hell's Kitchen)

A casual American diner-style restaurant famous for brunch staples like pancakes, eggs Benedict and loaded French toast, with a second location on the Upper East Side. Its pet-friendly patio is built specifically around four-legged guests, and staff may even bring treats over when they drop off your food.
Why it made the list
The rare NYC brunch spot that markets itself as dog-first — the patio, not an afterthought, is the point.
Good to know before you go
The restaurant's own site states 'your furry friend is welcome to join you on our pet-friendly patio' and notes that since dogs are not allowed inside NYC restaurants, dining is patio-only. Servers sometimes bring the dog a round of treats during service.

The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Last checked: against the source on . New York's first Department of Health–approved dog café, split into a coffee side and a separate Dog Dining Room entered straight from Avenue A. In the Dog Dining Room dogs come off the leash under owner supervision, which is close to unheard of indoors in Manhattan.
The city's first dog run, opened in 1990 and still its largest — a big fenced dirt run in the middle of Tompkins Square where dogs exercise unleashed through the day. Regulars treat it as a club with its own mailing list.
A taproom on the water at Domino Park, where the East River and the Manhattan skyline do the decorating. Leashed dogs are welcome inside the room and out on the patio, and food comes from outside — Roberta's is next door.
