A landmark garden precinct in a former 1920s industrial site, home to a cafe, The Garden Bar & BBQ, The Potting Shed, bakery, coffee roastery and seasonal markets. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome throughout The Garden and other outdoor areas, though not inside the Cafe.

Why it made the list

One of Sydney's most famous brunch destinations with an explicitly dog-welcome covered garden.

Good to know before you go

The Grounds' official FAQ states dogs are allowed in The Garden: well-behaved dogs are welcome throughout, must be on a leash and stay on the floor at all times (no laps or chairs). The Garden is an outdoor covered space with misting fans and heaters, so dogs are comfortable in most weather.

Practical notes

  • No bookings needed for under 10 people in The Garden - walk in
  • Nearby Perry Park is an off-leash option for a pre- or post-brunch run

What is available on site

  • Shaded seating
  • Dogs indoors
  • No size limits
  • Step-free access
