Rose Bay Foreshore
Free·Off-leash permitted
A harbour dog beach at the end of Caledonian Road, between Dumaresq Reserve and Percival Park. Woollahra Council designates this stretch as off-leash at all times. The water is shallow and calm, which makes it a gentle spot for dogs to swim, with harbour and city views.
Why it made the list
One of the Eastern Suburbs' easiest off-leash dog beaches, with calm shallow water and cafe tables a short walk uphill.
Good to know before you go
Woollahra Council's walking-your-dog list marks the foreshore between Dumaresq Reserve and Percival Park as off-leash at all times. Dogs must be on a lead in adjacent areas such as Rose Bay Park and Lyne Park, and are prohibited from playgrounds. Under the state companion animals act owners must keep dogs under effective control, carry a lead and clean up. Toilets are at Percival Park.

- Scan the sand for washed-up puffer fish after storms.

House rules and verification
The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.
