Sydney Park
Free·Off-leash permitted
A 44-hectare award-winning regional park with rolling hills, historic brick kilns, wetlands and extensive grassy spaces in Sydney's inner south. The City of Sydney lists dog off-leash areas as available at all times, including a dedicated paddling pool for dogs.
Why it made the list
An off-leash park with its own dog paddling pool is a rare inner-city treat for water-loving pups.
Good to know before you go
The council page states the off-leash areas apply at all times, with prohibited zones covering the wetlands, Alan Davidson Oval, the Cycling Centre, the playground and barbecue areas. There is a cafe kiosk on the village green and four car parks. Hours were not published in the material reviewed.
Practical notes
Keep your dog out of the wetlands, playground and BBQ zones where dogs are prohibited
The dog paddling pool is a summer favourite — bring a towel
