Piedmont Park Dog Parks

FreeOff-leash permitted

Three acres of off-leash space inside Atlanta's flagship park, maintained by the Piedmont Park Conservancy, with separate enclosures for large (30+ lbs) and small dogs. The area offers shade, benches, dog water spigots, restrooms nearby, and weekend concessions including King of Pops pup popsicles.

Why it made the list

It is consistently rated one of Atlanta's best dog parks and anchors a park where leashed dogs are welcome on miles of paths around Lake Clara Meer.

Good to know before you go

Off-leash is allowed only inside the double-gated enclosures; elsewhere in Piedmont Park dogs must be on a 6-foot leash. Dogs must wear collar and ID tags, be licensed and vaccinated, and no puppies under 16 weeks or dogs in heat are allowed, per piedmontpark.org. Swimming is prohibited in Clara Meer. Hours were not published in the material reviewed.
