A gourmet German restaurant and hotel in an old hunting lodge inside the Grunewald forest, with a summer beer garden. It pioneered a dedicated dog menu developed with an animal nutritionist.
Why it made the list
Fine dining where your dog dines too, right inside Berlin's biggest off-leash forest.
Good to know before you go
Press coverage confirms Paulsborn opened its doors to canine customers with a dedicated dog menu including beef, turkey and kangaroo dishes; its location in the Grunewald off-lead area makes it a natural stop for dog walkers, and its beer garden is a dog-owner meeting point.

A long-running Prenzlauer Berg cafe and flower shop on Kollwitzstrasse, known for its large Berlin breakfast and cakes. Coffee, cakes, crepes and full meals are served indoors and on a terrace shaded by an old plane tree, and it remains a neighbourhood institution near Kollwitzplatz.
Berlin's largest contiguous off-leash area, spread across the Grunewald forest in the south-west of the city. Inside the signed boundaries dogs may run free along forest trails, and the Grunewaldsee is the only lake in Berlin officially open to dog swimming.
Berlin's oldest beer garden, founded in 1837, set in a chestnut-shaded courtyard with more than 600 seats. It pours house-brewed Prater pilsner alongside sausages, schnitzel and pretzels, and an indoor restaurant serves a fuller German menu year-round.
