Parc linéaire de la Rivière-Saint-Charles
Free·Leashed only
The Parc linéaire de la Rivière-Saint-Charles is a 32-kilometre trail following the Saint-Charles River from Saint-Charles Lake to the Old Port of Québec. It passes through parks, wetlands and historic sites, is accessible year-round, and welcomes dogs on leash. Free parking and picnic areas sit at the Maison Dorion-Coulombe trailhead.
Why it made the list
A long, calm riverside greenway right in the city — the classic daily dog walk route for Limoilou residents.
Good to know before you go
Dogs are allowed on leash along the trail per Bonjour Québec's official listing; off-leash is limited to the city's designated canine spaces. The trail is open year-round and free; hours are not published as it is an open linear park.
Practical notes
Start at Maison Dorion-Coulombe for parking, washrooms and an easy riverside stretch.
Winter visits are lovely — just watch for icy boardwalk sections.

Parc canin de la Pointe-aux-Lièvres is one of Ville de Québec's five official off-leash dog spaces, a fully fenced park along the Rivière Saint-Charles in Limoilou. It has a hard gravel running surface, separate sections, benches and waste stations.
Café-Terrasse La Nouvelle-France is a tiny Parisian-style café hidden on Rue du Trésor in the heart of Old Québec, serving French classics like onion soup, crepes and salads on a terrace tucked off a busy lane. It has welcomed dogs on its terrace for decades and even offers a dedicated dog menu with meatballs.
Pub L'Oncle Antoine is a historic Old Québec pub set in what feels like an 18th-century wine cellar in the Petit Champlain district. Dogs join owners at the equally charming outdoor patio, with people-watching over the district's side streets.
