Parc canin de la Pointe-aux-Lièvres
Free·Off-leash permitted
Parc canin de la Pointe-aux-Lièvres is one of Ville de Québec's five official off-leash dog spaces, a fully fenced park along the Rivière Saint-Charles in Limoilou. It has a hard gravel running surface, separate sections, benches and waste stations. The riverside setting keeps things cleaner and drier than most urban dog runs.
Why it made the list
A fully fenced, riverside off-leash park minutes from downtown — ideal for city dogs that need a secure free run.
Good to know before you go
Ville de Québec requires dogs to be registered with the city and wearing its medal to use canine spaces, leashed until inside the entrance airlock, with a maximum of two dogs per person. Municipal regulation prohibits use between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. Access is free.
Practical notes
Register your dog with the city before visiting — the municipal medal is required.
The gravel surface means fewer muddy paws after rain.

The Parc linéaire de la Rivière-Saint-Charles is a 32-kilometre trail following the Saint-Charles River from Saint-Charles Lake to the Old Port of Québec. It passes through parks, wetlands and historic sites, is accessible year-round, and welcomes dogs on leash.
Café-Terrasse La Nouvelle-France is a tiny Parisian-style café hidden on Rue du Trésor in the heart of Old Québec, serving French classics like onion soup, crepes and salads on a terrace tucked off a busy lane. It has welcomed dogs on its terrace for decades and even offers a dedicated dog menu with meatballs.
Pub L'Oncle Antoine is a historic Old Québec pub set in what feels like an 18th-century wine cellar in the Petit Champlain district. Dogs join owners at the equally charming outdoor patio, with people-watching over the district's side streets.
