Koningin Astridpark

FreeLeashed, off-leash zone on site

The largest green space inside Bruges' canal ring: a 19th-century English-style park with a bandstand, pond and mature trees. It hosts the only fenced hondenweide (off-leash dog zone) within the historic center, in the south-east corner. Five minutes' walk from the Burg square.

Why it made the list

A secure, shaded fenced run inside the canal ring - the rare off-leash option in the medieval core.

Good to know before you go

The fenced hondenweide allows off-leash play; the rest of the park requires leashes. The run is small (about 600 m2) but well shaded, and weekday mornings before 10:00 are the calmest social time.

Practical notes

  • Weekday mornings before 10:00 are quietest
  • Leash up before leaving the fenced zone

House rules and verification

The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Last checked: against the source on . Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.
