Point Pleasant Park is a historic 75-hectare wooded peninsula at Halifax's south end, criss-crossed by 39 kilometres of easy trails with ocean views, ruins of early fortifications and a Martello tower. The majority of the park is off-leash for dogs, with wheelchair-accessible sections and shoreline paths.
Good Robot is a North End craft brewery with a charming outdoor beer garden that's explicitly dog-friendly, more picnic tables and astro-turf than formal patio. Taps rotate constantly and many beers are gluten-reduced.
The Wooden Monkey is a Halifax staple committed to sustainability and local sourcing, with a menu catering to many dietary preferences including strong vegan and gluten-free options. Its patios on both sides of the harbour welcome dogs — the Dartmouth waterfront location is especially scenic.
