Gold Bar Park
Free·Leashed, off-leash zone on site
Gold Bar Park lies on the south bank of the North Saskatchewan River at the end of 50 Street and includes an off-leash area, picnic sites and an extensive network of walking and cycling trails. A year-round pavilion offers accessible washrooms and a water bottle refill station, and the park is also a winter cross-country skiing hub.
Why it made the list
A quiet riverside park with a designated off-leash area and easy paved access, great for combining off-leash play with a leashed river walk.
Good to know before you go
The City of Edmonton lists an off-leash area within Gold Bar Park; dogs must be leashed elsewhere in the park. Park access hours are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and entry is free. Stay off groomed ski trails in winter.
Practical notes
Pair the off-leash area with a leashed stroll to the river viewpoint.
The pavilion's refill station is handy for topping up dog water bowls.
