Cafés · Jordaan
A classic Jordaan brown cafe on the Egelantiersgracht, in a building tied to an eighteenth-century jenever distillery. Inside are wood panelling, brass fittings and a mezzanine; outside is a small canal-side terrace, with extra seating on a boat in summer. It serves beers, jenever, coffee and simple bar food.
A genuinely historic Amsterdam brown cafe where dogs are accepted inside as well as on the canal terrace.
Listings report that dogs are welcome inside as well as on the terrace; Dutch law leaves the decision to each venue, so confirm on arrival. No size limits or pet fees are stated. In Amsterdam dogs must be leashed in public except in designated off-leash areas, owners must clean up, and there is no dog tax. The hours come from public directories and are inconsistent.
The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.

No photo yetAmsterdam's best-known craft brewery, whose main tasting room occupies a former bathhouse beneath the De Gooyer windmill on the Funenkade. Around ten of its beers are poured on tap with snacks such as boiled eggs, grilled sausage and cheese, and a large terrace with long tables opens in summer.
A five-star hotel of 25 interlinked seventeenth- and eighteenth-century canal houses on the Prinsengracht, with 225 rooms, the Jansz restaurant, a bar and a private garden. It sits in the heart of the canal ring, close to the Anne Frank House and the Nine Streets, and runs a private salon boat for canal cruises.
