Parque Tres de Febrero (Bosques de Palermo)

FreeLeashed only

The city's largest green space: 370 hectares of woods, four lakes and 29 separate plazas, wrapped around the Rosedal, the Planetarium and the Japanese Garden. The free-access plazas and promenades make up most of the park; the golf course, Japanese Garden and museums are ticketed or restricted.

Why it made the list

This is where Buenos Aires walks its dogs - professional walkers, canil regulars and lakeside loops, all inside one park.

Good to know before you go

The extent, the four lakes, the 29 plazas and the free-access areas are described on the City of Buenos Aires tourism site's park page; it publishes no pet rule. City rules require a lead in public spaces and waste pickup, with off-leash allowed only inside fenced caniles - Palermo's parks have them, but they are managed locally, so check the fence line on arrival. Keep dogs off the golf course and out of the ticketed gardens. Confidence: medium.

Practical notes

  • Weekday mornings are paseador rush hour - go early if your dog is nervous in a crowd.
  • The lakes attract water birds; keep the lead short along the Regatas and Rosedal banks.

House rules and verification

The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Last checked: against the source on . Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.
