West Bund Riverside Dog Field
Free·Leashed, off-leash zone on site
The Xuhui West Bund stretch between the Tank Shanghai art center and the Dream Center is Shanghai's most famous dog social corridor, with open lawns, riverside paths, dog drinking points and waste-bag dispensers along the way. Multiple restaurants at West Bund Dream Center allow dogs at open-air tables. Long Art Museum's front lawn is a well-known dog meetup spot.
Why it made the list
Free riverside lawns, dedicated water points and a dense dog community make it the single best everyday outing in the city.
Good to know before you go
Free and open all day; dogs on leads up to two metres on the promenade, off-leash only inside the signed fenced West Bund dog field. Leashed dogs are allowed in the outdoor zones of AI Plaza and Dream Center, with muzzles required for dogs over 35 cm shoulder height or 30 kg. Take Metro 7/12 to Longhua Middle Road.
