Tempelhofer Feld
Free·Off-leash permitted
A 355-hectare former airport turned public park with wide open meadows and runways. Dogs are welcome on-leash throughout the park, and three fenced dog exercise areas let them run free.
Why it made the list
One of Berlin's most spectacular open spaces for a long dog walk with official fenced off-leash zones.
Good to know before you go
The official park FAQ states dogs may be brought onto the Feld but must be leashed; they can run free in three fenced-off dog exercise areas marked on the park map. Owners are asked to dispose of waste in bins; the Tempelschlucht nature area is not a dog area.
Practical notes
Enter via Oderstraße/Herrfurthstraße for the least crowded fenced dog areas

A long-running Prenzlauer Berg cafe and flower shop on Kollwitzstrasse, known for its large Berlin breakfast and cakes. Coffee, cakes, crepes and full meals are served indoors and on a terrace shaded by an old plane tree, and it remains a neighbourhood institution near Kollwitzplatz.
Berlin's oldest beer garden, founded in 1837, set in a chestnut-shaded courtyard with more than 600 seats. It pours house-brewed Prater pilsner alongside sausages, schnitzel and pretzels, and an indoor restaurant serves a fuller German menu year-round.
A design hotel in City West, opposite the Berlin Zoo and the Bikini Berlin mall, with 149 rooms, the NENI Berlin restaurant and the tenth-floor Monkey Bar. Jungle and Urban rooms look over the Tiergarten and the zoo, and the Zoologischer Garten station is a few minutes away.
