Silver Beach Dog Off-Leash Area, Kurnell

FreeOff-leash permitted

A stretch of Botany Bay beach at Kurnell where Sutherland Shire Council allows dogs off-leash between the third and fourth rock groynes at the western end, next to the Bonna Point Reserve car park. The gentle, shallow water and calm bay setting make it popular with dog swimmers.

Why it made the list

One of the very few beaches in Sydney where dogs can run off-leash around the clock.

Good to know before you go

Dogs must be leashed entering and leaving the area and owners must clean up using the bags and bins provided.

Practical notes

  • Park at the Bonna Point Reserve car park for direct access to the off-leash section
  • There is a café across the road and a water bubbler and toilet nearby
