A 4.1-acre stretch of sand in Long Beach where off-leash is the legal default inside the marked dog zone. It is one of the few places in the LA area where a dog can run on sand and swim without a leash.
It is a designated, city-sanctioned off-leash beach rather than an informal one, so you are not relying on the goodwill of a lifeguard.
Off-leash applies inside the dog zone only and dogs must be leashed on the access paths. Dogs must be over four months old, vaccinated and licensed, owners must carry a leash, and no food of any kind is allowed inside the zone.
