Richmond Park
Free·Off-leash permitted
London's largest Royal Park at 2,500 acres, home to herds of red and fallow deer and ancient trees. The Royal Parks' official dog policy confirms dogs are welcome throughout the park, mostly off-lead, with seasonal restrictions.
Why it made the list
Vast open parkland where your dog can run free among ancient oaks and deer views, just 20 minutes from central London.
Good to know before you go
Official policy: during the deer birthing season (1 May – 31 July) dogs must be kept on leads throughout the park; short leads are required year-round in skylark protection zones (e.g. Lawn Field by Pen Ponds); Pembroke Lodge Gardens is dog-free; keep dogs near roads and water on leads.
Practical notes
