Free·Leashed, off-leash zone on site
A hilly, tree-filled park west of the city center with the Rosaleda rose garden, the Temple of Debod nearby and grassy slopes with views over the Royal Palace. Shady paths and quiet lawns make it a relaxed alternative to the busier Retiro for dog walks.
Why it made the list
Varied topography and heavy shade keep dogs comfortable, and it is far calmer than central parks on weekdays.
Good to know before you go
Dogs are welcome leashed throughout, and Madrid's citywide rule applies: leashed outside permitted off-leash hours (until 10:00 and after 19:00 in winter / 20:00 in summer) and always out of playgrounds and the rose garden's fenced flower beds. The Teleferico cable car at the park's edge only accepts dogs in carriers.
Practical notes
Walk the ridge from Paseo de Moret for sunset views over Casa de Campo
Weekday mornings are the quietest for off-leash hours
