Parco delle Cascine
Free·Leashed, off-leash zone on site
Florence's largest public park, stretching about 3.5 km along the northern bank of the Arno with tree-lined avenues, open lawns and riverside paths. It contains designated fenced dog areas (aree cani) and is where Florentine dog owners gather every morning.
Why it made the list
The combination of long shaded avenues, open meadows and official off-leash zones makes it the single best park in Florence for dogs.
Good to know before you go
Dogs must be leashed except inside the marked, fenced aree cani; leash length limit is 1.5 m on public streets. The Tuesday Mercato delle Cascine runs along the park edge. Free entry with no published closing time.
Practical notes
