Parc de Gerland
Free·Off-leash permitted
An 80-hectare contemporary park in southern Lyon redesigned by landscape architect Michel Corajoud, with open meadows, wetland areas and long flat paths. It includes a dedicated fenced dog enclosure, one of the city's official espaces canins.
Why it made the list
The flat, spacious terrain and dedicated dog area make it ideal for older dogs and dogs that need a proper run.
Good to know before you go
Lyon requires dogs leashed in public spaces, but off-leash exercise is permitted in designated dog zones like the enclosure here; keep your dog leashed elsewhere in the park. Opening hours are not published on official pages; the park is open-access.
