Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park
Free·Leashed, off-leash zone on site
A large forest and wetland park in Fengtai promoted by Beijing's official tourism channels as a pet-friendly destination, with professional walking trails and broad lawns ideal for dogs to run and explore. In designated areas dogs can even be let off the leash. It is the first stop of the city's published 'pet companionship' tour route.
Why it made the list
Officially promoted as pet-friendly with room to genuinely run, it is the biggest natural escape inside the Fengtai side of the city.
Good to know before you go
Free entry per Beijing's official tourism site; off-leash play is allowed only in designated areas, leashed elsewhere. Hours were not published in the source. Seasonal activities inside the park (flower garden, ice rink) may have separate rules - keep dogs clear of those zones.
Practical notes
Use the designated off-leash zones only, leash up elsewhere.
Spring and autumn visits are most comfortable for thick-coated dogs.
