Jo's Coffee — South Congress
$ · Budget·Leashed only
An Austin institution on South Congress since 1999, home of the “I Love You So Much” mural and the Iced Turbo. Coffee, breakfast tacos and pastries come out of a walk-up window, and the shaded sidewalk patio is the whole point.
Why it made the list
Dogs are part of the shop's identity rather than tolerated — water bowls and pup treats are standard, and it runs monthly breed-specific Pups on the Patio meetups.
Good to know before you go
Dogs are welcome on the patio only; the small ordering area is for people. Dogs must be leashed, and there is no fee and no size limit. Treats and water bowls are on hand. Policy and hours come from the café's own website, though some directories list a later weekend close.
Practical notes
- Arrive before 9am for a shaded table and a short line.
- Sunday brunch draws a crowd — come early if your dog dislikes noise.
What is available on site
- Shaded seating
- Water bowls
- Step-free access
House rules and verification
The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.
