Hotel Gault

$$$ · UpscaleLeashed only

A 30-suite boutique hotel in a converted 1871 stone building in Old Montreal. It publishes a pet policy that accepts dogs and cats of any size, up to two per room, and welcomes pets in the lobby and rooms with beds, bowls and a 'Woofpack' of treats on arrival.

Why it made the list

A rare hotel that accepts dogs and cats of any size with no weight limit, in a walkable Old Montreal location close to the Old Port and the Lachine Canal path.

Good to know before you go

Hotel Gault's own pet page sets the terms: CAD 65 plus tax per pet per night, dogs and cats of any size, a maximum of two pets per room, allowed in the lobby and rooms, and a 'Woofpack' with treats, a toy and accessories on arrival. Beds and bowls are available on request, and the hotel asks that pets not be left alone for long. The page publishes no check-in times.

Practical notes

  • The pet fee is CAD 65 plus tax per pet per night, so factor that into the cost of a stay with a dog.
  • Ask the concierge to plan a walk; the Old Port, Champ-de-Mars and the Lachine Canal path are all within easy walking distance.

What is available on site

  • Overnight stays
  • Dogs indoors

House rules and verification

The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.
