GouGo Land (Qiantan)

An enclosed dog-only playground inside Qiantan Leisure Park and one of the few fully fenced off-leash spaces in central Shanghai. It is divided into separate areas for large dogs and small-to-medium dogs, with agility obstacles, a splashing pool area, drinking pools and paw-washing stations. Well-maintained turf is disinfected regularly.
Why it made the list
Fenced, size-segregated off-leash running with wash stations is exactly what big-city dogs rarely get in Shanghai.
Good to know before you go
Entry is 30 RMB per small/medium dog and 40 RMB per large dog; the park is open all day but daylight visits are recommended. Vaccination records, leash control at the gate, waste bagging and muzzles for large breeds are expected. Take Metro lines 6/8/11 to Oriental Sports Center station.
Practical notes
Arrive before 8 AM in summer to avoid heatstroke risk.
Bring extra drinking water - it runs short at peak times.

An Italian deli-restaurant on Anfu Lu with a sunny terrace serving wood-fired pizza, pasta, cheese and wine in a relaxed, dog-friendly room. It is a neighborhood brunch-and-lunch staple in the Former French Concession.
A coffee shop combined with a dog park, repeatedly highlighted as a standout of Shanghai's pet cafe scene. The setup lets owners order at the counter while their dogs play in the adjoining dog area.
A vast national forest park in Fengxian with roughly 85% forest coverage - a natural oxygen bar on Shanghai's southern edge. Dogs are allowed entry with no breed or size restrictions, so large dogs find a genuine playground here.
