Bread and Butter is a small neighbourhood café and coffee house in Drumcondra, next to its sister café The Lovely Food Company, serving speciality coffee, pastries, cakes and a to-go lunch. There are a few stools inside and seating for about fourteen outside, plus a small shop selling wine, Irish produce and gifts.

Why it made the list

A pet-friendly café that states dogs are welcome with a pup cup and free treats, open seven days from early morning and useful as a quick coffee stop with a dog.

Good to know before you go

The café's own site states it is pet friendly, that dogs are welcome, that a pup cup costs €1 and that pet treats are free. It opens at 08:00 Monday to Saturday and 08:30 on Sunday, closing at 16:00 daily, at 94A Drumcondra Road Lower, Dublin 9. Facts taken from the café's own Coffee in Drumcondra page.

Practical notes

  • It closes at 16:00 daily and gets busy before Croke Park match days, so call in before an event rather than after.
  • There are only six to eight inside stools plus outside seating, so it suits a quick stop more than a long sit with a dog.

House rules and verification

The pet policy above is summarised from the venue’s own published information and cross-checked against public listings. Policies change without notice anyway, so confirm the current one with the venue before you travel, and keep your dog leashed anywhere that is not a signed off-leash area. Read the full disclaimer.
