Berges du Rhône
Free·Leashed only
About five kilometres of landscaped riverside promenades running from Parc de la Tête d'Or south to Confluence, with paved paths, green strips, benches and public fountains. It is Lyon's everyday dog-walking artery.
Why it made the list
The wide, flat promenade with grass strips and water fountains is perfect for long, easy walks at any hour.
Good to know before you go
Dogs must be leashed on the Berges du Rhône, as in all Lyon public spaces outside designated dog zones; owners must pick up waste. There is no published closing time as it is an open public quay.
Practical notes
