Augustiner-Keller

$$ · ModerateLeashed only

Munich's oldest continuously running beer garden, on this site since 1812, under around 100 chestnut trees with Augustiner Edelstoff poured from wooden barrels. Leashed dogs are welcome under the trees and on the garden benches, a Munich tradition rather than an exception.

Why it made the list

Five thousand shaded chestnut seats three minutes from the main station, where a dog at your bench is classic Munich.

Good to know before you go

Dogs on leash are welcome in the beer garden; Munich law requires leashes in beer gardens and all designated park meadows. Hours vary with weather and season and were not published in English, so check the official site in winter.

Practical notes

  • Choose a chestnut-shaded bench away from the bierhalle entrance
  • Wooden-barrel Edelstoff and a Brezn - keep treats for a patient dog

What is available on site

  • Shaded seating
  • Water bowls
  • No size limits
  • Dogs indoors
